At the invitation of the Red Cross and the Nauiyu Ngenbimi Wirr Tal Committee, Enterprise Learning Projects (ELP) has been exploring micro-enterprise ideas with Daly River communities (including Nauiyu, Wooliana and Five Mile Creek) since July 2016. Through this process, photography has emerged as an exciting enterprise idea.
To further explore the potential of this idea, ELP assembled a Photograhy Enterprise Project Team with the intention to develop a marketable product that shares the story of Daly River through photography. The team consisted of Daly River community members showing interest in photography, an ELP facilitator, and professional photographer, Rhett Hammerton.
Photo’s taken by the team were digitally enhanced for the purpose of printing onto metal disks. The disks were then used to create a series of community magnets, key chains and earrings!
The final product range showcases the art photography of local flora and fauna by artists; Mathias Sambono, Donna Foster and Cassie Sambono.
Special thanks to the Red Cross, Nauiyu Ngenbimi Wirr Tal Committee and Ironbark Aboriginal Corporation for making this project possible.
